Granted, Paris Hilton was not accused of committing murder, however, the fact that her 'celebrity' managed to get her out of jail just three days into her sentence is still sickening. Supposedly, she was suffering from depression and since she could not receive medication her sentence was reduced to house arrest. A lot of people are thinking that maybe it will still be punishment, but consider the following:
This is the house she will be living in for her house arrest sentence. I would gladly take on an ankle bracelet of house arrest to spend 45 days in this mansion. Hilton will be able to receive visitors, have parties and even have alcohol when her arrest was due to DUI charges.
Thankfully, someone has some sense in this case:
"Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was apparently unmoved by the pleas of Hilton's three lawyers to send her back to home confinement due to an unspecified medical condition. He ordered Hilton returned to a Los Angeles County jail to serve out the remainder of her 45-day sentence for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case."
Thank goodness someone was still watching out for the justice system of America!
